Pussy Willow

a

The pussy willow, or catkin, is one of the first flowers to bloom as winter turns to spring. In fact, most insects live on its rich pollen until other flowers begin to bloom. Ancient religions believed that the moon ruled over the willow and that the buds were droplets from the night sky. The world's first form of aspirin came from the bark of the willow and while the flowers may appear fragile due to their soft texture, the plants are extremely resistant to the early spring frosts. When severed, the pussy willow can last several weeks in water. The willow is the representation of strength and gentleness combined. The person who wears the pussy willow gives strength and sustenance to those around them while remaining strong within. The Pussy willow set is made with a combination of chrysoberyl cat's eye, labradorite, pearls, unakite, peridot, white and yellow gold, and silver. Chrysoberyl cat's eye is an unusual stone that aids all types of kidney functions and is said to be extremely useful to patients on kidney dialysis. Chrysoberyl strengthens and cleanses body tissue. Labradorite is stone that is excellent for sight, which included second sight, nights vision, and greater intensity of dreams. Pearls are symbolic of wisdom and maturity while unakite instills the wearer with confidence. Peridot strengthens and repairs the physical body while aiding in overcoming personal losses. Gold strengthens the heart while silver releases stress and is akin to the moon. The necklace, bracelet and earring set gives the wearer a sense of confidence and gentleness that only the pussy willow can truly encompass.
