The crocus is a late winter blooming flower that symbolizes youthful gladness, which is easy to understand when one sees the first crocus after a cold winter. Capable of surviving the frosts of early spring, the crocus is a hearty flower that inspires us to endure the last few cold snaps before spring. The crocus is believed to attract love, which again is needed after the winter storms. The crocus set is for the individual who inspires hope and love in others by promising the return to a brighter time of life; spring. The frosty whites and the rich purples of the crocus seem regal despite their relative commonness in the garden. Hopefully, the crocus will inspire the wearer with a sense of gladness and delicate beauty. The crocus set is made from a collection of amethyst, rainbow moonstone, peridot, purple freshwater pearls, quartz and gold. Amethyst has a rich history that dates back to the Greek mythology. The stone is believed to unite the spiritual with the physical and to aid the wearer in repelling negative energy. Peridot is a stone that resulted from ancient lava flows and thus is believed to cauterize old wounds. Peridot is also linked with the healing of many organs including the liver, glands, pancreas, heart and spleen. The pearl is thought to be an aphrodisiac as well as a symbol of love and marriage which may be related to the process a grain of sand must go through to become a pearl. Pearls are also representative of wisdom. Quartz is the great binder and equalizer of all humankind. It is thought to the one stone that in its meekness can truly bring together all life forms in a peaceful manner. Gold is a heart strengthener and in combination with quartz encourages the many aspects of the crocus' fragile appearance in unison with its strength to outlast the seemingly endless frosts of winter. The wearer of the crosus set will encourage beauty and grace with a delicate balance of strength and endurance.
The Box The crocus box is lined with purple silk and hand woven purple flowers while the top is adorned with a brilliant amethyst bloom surrounded by purple pearls, peridot, quartz, and rainbow moonstone. The sides are painted with little crocuses while the inside is lined with hand screened Japanese paper. The crosus box will hopefully add a much needed glimpse of purple light to any winter window sill that is touched with tiny snowflakes or bits of frost.
