Rose

a

The rose is truly the noblest flower of all and can only be imagined on the most elegant and refined of all women. Historically the rose has been symbolic of everything from passionate love to jealousy by means of its color thus giving a lover a bit of a challenge when choosing a rose for a gift. The dusty pink rose is symbolic of love and everlasting friendship. While there are numerous legends and stories based on the rose, the one that always comes to my mind is that of the old French children's tale 'Beauty and the Beast'. The giving of the life of a merchant's beautiful daughter to a beast over the picking of a single enchanted rose shows the importance of the exceptional flower. The dusty rose should be worn by a refined elegance and unparalleled kindness. The rose is made with pink sapphires, pink tourmaline, oink cultured pearls, and 14 and 22k gold. Since ancient times sapphires where thought to ward off the evil eye as well as the plague and are thought to be a protective stone. The pink sapphire is a rare gem that is thought to protect the heart. The shape of the rose is related to this fact and can be seen in the small thorns that surround each gold image of the rose thus protecting the heart from being pricked by others. Pink tourmaline is also associated with the heart and is thought to be the stone of universal friendships. Pearls are thought to be an aphrodisiac as well as a symbol of love and marriage along with maturity. Gold is also a strengthener of the heart. The rose should be worn by a woman whose beauty both inside and out can be easily damaged and therefore protected by the vibrant stones and delicately hidden thorns of the dusty rose.
