Poppy

a

The intoxicating poppy is a flower that arouses our senses due its vivid color and long history of narcotic images. One myth that is most commonly associated with the poppy is that of Orpheus and his everlasting sleep in the underworld. While the poppy is often linked to images of sleep, the red poppy is symbolic of fantastic extravagance. The idea of luxury has always surrounded the image of the poppy where their floppy blooms and paper like petals bring to mind absolute relaxation and exotic lands. The poppy should be worn by a woman who looks elegant naturally. The poppy is for a woman of fine tastes and somewhat luxuriant tendencies. The poppy is made with a combination of black tourmaline, green garnets, red coral, and gold. Black tourmaline, also called Schorl, is said to be a stabilizer that aids in deep, dreamless sleep. Zavorite, which is more commonly known as green garnet, is one of the rarest stones in the garnet family and is akin to all things magical. It is believed to be the stone of the little people (fairies and elves); everyone needs a little magic in their lives. Red coral is thought to provide physical energy and protection. It also acts as an astringent for the entire body and insures good health to those who wear it while gold is an overall strengthener of the heart. The poppy should be worn by a woman of mysterious and exotic beauty whose presence reminds us all to stop and enjoy a bit of luxury.

The Box

The box is made with linden wood that has been hand carved in the Tatra mountain regions of Poland. The inside of the box is lined with a vintage French ribbon that dates to the turn of the century while the bottom of the box is cushioned with red raw silk. When one opens that inside of the poppy box they are greeted by a large velvet red rose that pops up its head as the lid is turned back. The top of the poppy box is adorned with peridot, green garnets, black tourmaline, and red coral from Tibet all hand sewn on raw silk and framed by two green velvet leaves. The poppy box looks best either on a dressing table or in one's study where it can be admired by all..
