The delicate blue blossoms of the forget-me-not are symbolic of remembrance and true love. There is a delightful story that tells why the forget-me-not is named as such, it begins in the garden of Eden. When God was finished naming all the flowers he told then to be sure and remember all there names when all of sudden a little voice asked 'and what shall I be remembered as?' and God, realizing that he had overlooked the tiny blue flower told it that it should be named the forget-me-not so as never to be forgotten again. Henry IV of England wore the forget-me-not as his emblem on his robes and believed that the flower symbolized true love. The forget-me-not is a flower that should be worn by a woman of delicate grace and inspiring beauty for it should assure that the wearer is never forgotten. The forget-me-not necklace is made with a combination of turquoise, cultured pearls, and 22k gold. The pearl is thought to be an aphrodisiac as well as a symbol of love and marriage which may be related to the process a grain of sand must go through to become a pearl. Beginning as a tiny piece of sand the pearl must go through a transformation that requires irritation of the oyster to produce a beautifully smooth pearl, this process is symbolically akin to the beginning and maturing of a relationship. While the pearl is representative of wisdom and maturity, gold offers strength of heart to the wearer. Turquoise is a stone that has enough healing properties to fill a book; however, some of the most commonly used healing properties of the stone are to clean out all pollutants in the body. Turquoise is a cleansing stone as well as a grounding stone that has a significantly masculine energy, which can be of great benefit for any woman who needs to be able to stand up for herself. The forget-me-not is a delicate flower by appearance although it is one of the few flowers that can easily resist the first spring frosts. |
